Just so that it’s remembered forever…

I was hanging around my resort hotel when I felt the need to go back to my
car. I crossed a small desert (which was surrounded by hills and a jungle,
and not dry and arid, more like a huge tropical clearing but with a floor
of sand) to get there and when I came to the other side, there were more
resort hotel rooms and a number of cars. One was mine.

I drive a Nissan Pulsar Q and I was trying to get the FreeBSD Ports
Collection (http://www.freebsd.org/ports) to install on my car, as if it
were my computer. I could not do it so I decided to look for any other
Nissans that were parked nearby to see if I could use them as an example.
There were none. Each car was large and expensive, and one car even opened
its boot and doors automatically when I stood near it. I looked inside of
it and wondered whether or not a car alarm would sound if I got any closer,
so I looked at the brand, which I can’t remember now, and left.

I went back to my car and started to vacuum the insides of it. I was in
the middle of a desert, and the wind was blowing back towards the desert
very strongly, so I figured this would be a good place to vacuum so that
the sound of the vacuum did not annoy anyone too much. I plugged it in to
a power point that just happened to be there in the ground, and vacuumed.

At one point when it was very quiet and still in the desert, the sand was
more like a beach and wet and there were marks in the sand that looked like
the same lines you see on the beach when sea snails have been crawling
across the sand.

I followed the line and it broke off in to dozens of different lines all
looking as though they were heading back to the resort. I somehow figured
there must be either dozens of snakes around. I decided to head back to
the resort.

Next thing I knew I was heading back to the resort hotel across the desert
when I saw a python. It felt a bit like the snake was the Loch Ness
monster — some sort of big python that generally hung around the resort
area but was one of a kind.

It kept slithering past me a lot. I remember, and this part of the dream
is very hazy, sitting on the sand with my hands back as the snake slithered
towards me. I knew I had to keep still the whole time it was near me to
make it go away, so I did not move a muscle. It suddenly lunged forward
and its head was in the back pocket of my pants. It had caught a mouse!
It went backwards and I could see this big bulge in its body where it had
swallowed the mouse. I still felt in danger from this snake.

It disappeared for a while and next I knew I was at the edge of the resort
where there was a pool. The snake reappeared and it felt like it was going
to attack me again, as it was very close by, so at the last second of my
panic I jumped into the pool. The snake slid in to the pool as well and I
became very stressed. There was a bit of thrashing of the water on my
part.

Next thing I knew all was quiet. I got out of the pool and the pool
attendant was there. A small kitten sat there quietly. I asked about the
kitten because it was not there before and she said that it is a stray and
hangs around quite a bit. The snake was gone and I had this overwhelming
feeling that the snake was in fact the cat. She (the pool attendant) said
that he was very friendly.
